Benefits and uses of Manuka Essential Oil

Manuka essential oil comes from the myrtle family, Myrtaceae, and is native to Australia and New Zealand. Steam distilled from the leaves and stems of the plant, Manuka oil has a woodsy, slightly sweet scent. Manuka essential oil can be compared to Tea Tree essential oil, as Manuka oil benefits the skin in a similar way.

Blends well with a citrus oil such as Tangerine, Orange, or Grapefruit to create a refreshing environment.

Other uses: 

• Apply a few drops of Manuka essential oil before shampooing your hair to invigorate your scalp. 
•  can help reduce the appearance of blemishes
• Add it to your favorite skin care products to help your skin stay bright and healthy-looking.

DIY Autumn Blends

Okay so I love summer but fall has to be my favorite time to decorate and my favorite scents.

Back to school with Youngliving

Benefits of Vetiver Essential Oils

Vetiver oil comes from a perennial grass native to tropical regions in Asia and has an earthy, exotic aroma. It is steam distilled from the plant’s root, giving it a warm, woodsy scent that has been used for its fragrance since ancient times.  This is not one of my favorite scents. but with so many benefits/uses it's a must in my oil kit.

Vetiver oil uses include colognes and fragrances—especially for men—as well as soaps and moisturizers. Anti-inflammatory Properties The very soothing and cooling effects of this essential oil calms and pacifies all sorts of inflammation. It is particularly good at providing relief from inflammation in both the circulatory and nervous system.

It is also found to be an appropriate treatment for inflammation caused by sunstroke, dehydration, and loo, which is the name given to very hot and dry winds prevalent during summer. This oil is know to speed up the eradication or disappearance of scars and other marks on the skin.

It also promotes the growth of new tissues in the affected places which replace the dead and discolored tissues and helps achieve a uniform look. This is also useful for post-delivery stretch marks for pregnant women, fat cracks, after spots left by pox, and burns.

Inhaling: Add 5–10 drops to an evening bath for a relaxing, uplifting aroma.

Diffusing:  Combine 3 drops of Vetiver, 5 drops of Lavender, and 2 drops of Ylang Ylang for a calming diffuser blend that is perfect for relaxing evenings at home.  Vetiver Essential Oil Uses Diffuse its invigorating aroma in an office or study room to create a relaxing, welcoming space where you can think freely. Because of its viscosity, it’s recommended that users dilute Vetiver essential oil with a carrier oil before using it in a diffuser. 

Topical: Combine a few drops of Vetiver oil with V-6™ Vegetable Oil Complex and massage on skin for a calming experience that also moisturizes.

All natural Congestion relief

One week back to school and everyone in the house already has the sniffles. Blah of course that was bound to happen, if only I would have used Thieves to prevent it. But since I didn't I searched for an all natural/toxin free way to get rid of the congestion.

The recipe was super easy to find and super easy to make. All three of the oils included are essential at my house so I had them on hand.

I diffused 2 drops Peppermint, 2 drops lavender, and 2 drops of lemon all night while we slept. The next morning when I woke up, I asked my husband if his congestion was better. He was like yeah, why what did you do?

He started out being my worst skeptic so I NEVER tell him when I'm trying something new. I figure whether he feels a difference or not is not a subconscious thing. But he quickly coming around to be a huge believer especially since the Deep Relief helps him so much.

I have been waking up without congestion ever since we started diffusing this blend. I also don't have a hard time sleeping because of the sinus drip. I love this blend and started using it in my children's rooms as well!

How to avoid Chemicals in our Cleaners and Laundry room!

We have already talked about Toxins in our bathroom. Now let's move on to the kitchen and laundry room. Yep they're there too. It's really sad to think about by majority of our cleaning products have chemicals. 

Yes they are approved but the small amount in that one product. So I guess they are assuming you use one product. Do you use one product a day?? Nope, neither do I.  The average woman uses 12 different products a day which equals a whopping 168 chemicals complied on your skin a day. 

What do you think happens to those 168 toxins you use a day? Of course, they are absorbed through your skin or inhaled. According to the BPA some of these toxins are known to cause cancer, infertility, asthma among others disturbing truths.  

Now you understand I didn't make this up, right? The BPA is no way associated with YoungLiving. So there is no benefit to them but to educate us. It's time for us to take our heath in OUR hands. Not leave it to the big companies to decide what goes in our bodies. They are not dedicated to keeping you healthy, are they? Doubtful, highly doubtful.
